Illinois Falcons is a vital 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that attempts to moderate the negative impacts of apathy and lack of available outreach services for the underserved youth population of Lansing, Illinois. Our organization’s projects, implemented by a well-trained staff, offer many opportunities for the reduction of negative behaviors and activities among today’s young adults through athletic training and character development. Supporting the development of mind, body, and soul, Illinois Falcons provides as many individuals as possible with a thorough foundation for future success.
Our organization strives to allow opportunities for youth to take advantage of untapped skills, teach them to be leaders and how to work hard as a team.
Recognizing the needs that exist among our target population, Illinois Falcons’ staff provides students with athletic programs that focus on individual empowerment. Throughout continuation of the proposed activities, our organization will address the needs of our target communities, brighten lives, and assist each participant achieve their personal goals. Our organization’s objectives are accomplished by implementation of stimulating activities and materials that are organized around a well-developed prospectus.
Our activities are overseen by a group of well-qualified individuals. Our diverse staff members have ties to the community, and thus possess the unique ability to relate to the target demographic. Additionally, our Board of Directors are comprised of a professional group of talented individuals who are dedicated to committing their time and resources to building a stronger community.
Illinois Falcons strives to serve as many people as possible with the resources we have available – every individual is important to our organization and we will not discriminate against anyone. By offering services that are concentrated on serving those less fortunate and addressing the greatest needs of our target community, we can make a positive contribution in helping the people we work with lead a more fulfilling life.
Illinois Falcons’ administrators are currently seeking the funding required to continue offering competitive basketball programs, healthy lifestyles initiatives, and social growth opportunities for the young adults in our community. Our organization will practice strong financial stewardship with the funding that we obtain in order to purchase vital equipment, secure a suitable practice facility, and assist with tournament registration fees.
Illinois Falcons proudly offers high quality basketball development programs for students between the 5th to 12th grades. Throughout this program, participants have the opportunity to improve their athletic skills and prepare for the upcoming sports season by completing fundamental drills, scrimmages, and conditioning exercises during weekly practices. Each team is scheduled to participate in a minimum of four tournaments per month. We have been fortunate to obtain the necessary funding to support over twenty-five athletes within the last year. The community support that we receive will allow our directors to extend our mission to as many students as possible.
Our staff members recognize the importance of preparing our students for excellence both on and off the court, as well as the value of a professional adult’s guidance. As a result of these beliefs, our young adults also spend a portion of training program focused on the development of sportsmanship, leadership, teamwork, and self-confidence.
Each of Illinois Falcons’ programs is staffed by qualified individuals that have expertise in their particular service area. Each staff person will be subject to a screening process that may include an application, criminal background check, and interview. The Executive Director of the organization will oversee all staff and client interaction, while continuously employing their years of training and experience.
